7 Days Cat-Sitting Anomalies Guide

Anomalies are the horror layer of 7 Days Cat-Sitting. Daily chores keep Whiskers alive; anomaly responses keep you alive. This guide lists every major threat players report, what it looks like, the correct fix, and which ending badge you risk if you ignore it and go to bed. Use it beside Getting Started for chore context and All Endings when you are farming fails on purpose.

How anomalies work

Events interrupt or appear alongside the normal day. The phone camera can identify a threat and message the owner for a soft hint, but always verify the physical fix yourself. After you think the threat is gone, re-check windows, hallway, toilet, street, and screen warnings before sleeping. An unlocked door or open fridge can still ruin a night even if the anomaly itself was handled—see the soft traps on Day 1 Survival.

Misplaced (layout soft trap)

Signs: A piece of furniture sits where it should not, or a wall/backdrop color (often behind the TV) no longer matches your Day 1 mental map.

Solution: Investigate the wrong object or surface until the house feels normal again. Treat this as a perception chore, not RNG.

If ignored: Misplaced — sleeping on an unresolved layout lie awards the badge. Full route notes: Misplaced Ending.

Player tip: Add “did anything move?” to every night audit on the Daily Chores Checklist. Day 1 deaths cluster here because new players never learn the room.

The Void

Signs: The mailbox has disappeared and the outdoors look like solid darkness instead of a normal street.

Solution: Close all blinds in the house. Do not treat this as a mail problem—you cannot collect mail while Void is active in the usual way, and sleeping into darkness yields Voided.

Player tip: Sweep every window room. Missing one blind is enough. After blinds are down, confirm the outdoor view is no longer consuming the house before you continue chores or sleep. Pair with the Cannon Good Ending checklist so Void nights still finish feed, litter, laser, lock, and dinner.

The Tall Man

Signs: A tall, gangly individual appears in the hallway.

Solution: Open your phone and take a photo of him. He disappears when photographed correctly.

If ignored: Sleeping while he remains active connects to Peek a boo—he visits during the night. Do not try to “wait him out” the way you wait out Granny; Tall Man wants documentation, not patience.

Granny

Signs: Knocking at the door; an old woman peering through if you look.

Solution: Stay away from the hallways until the knocking stops. Do not open the door.

If ignored / let in: Granny is Here—she takes you away. Curiosity is the fail state. Continue other chores in safe rooms if needed, but treat the front hall as off-limits until silence returns.

Toilet Monster

Signs: A head sticking out of the toilet.

Solution: Flush the toilet.

If ignored: Down the Drain—more of the body may climb out overnight. Bathroom checks should be part of every pre-sleep sweep, even on quiet days.

Human Cat

Signs: Whiskers suddenly has a human head.

Solution: Stare at the cat for a few seconds until the wrong face resolves.

If ignored: Not my Cat! Going to bed during the transformation is the classic fail. Do not confuse this with normal petting; staring is the mechanic, not fleeing.

Window Looker (window face)

Signs: A pale face gazing in through a window.

Solution: Close the curtains on the affected window (and verify other panes).

If ignored: I see you—the watcher finds a way in after you sleep. This is easy to miss if you only check the living room; rotate through all exterior windows during your night audit.

Godzilla / Catzilla

Signs: A giant creature walking along the street outside.

Solution: Turn the TV on to put it to sleep / stop its advance.

If ignored: Catzilla—it reaches the end of the street and destroys everything. Note the irony: for the good run you may turn the TV on temporarily to stop Catzilla, then turn it off before bed so you do not also risk Screen Time. Always re-check TV state after the street is clear.

HIDE

Signs: The word HIDE flashes on screen and a grating sound plays.

Solution: Leave the door area, enter a back room, and close that door. Wait out the threat.

If ignored: Found You. Standing in the open or lingering by the front door during HIDE is the failure. Practice the path to a closable back room during calm minutes so you are not learning the map under the siren.

Pre-sleep anomaly audit

Before you click the bed every night:

  1. Windows and blinds/curtains state correct for any Void or face events.
  2. Hallway empty (Tall Man photographed if he appeared).
  3. No active Granny knocking—or you are still waiting it out, not sleeping.
  4. Toilet clear / flushed if a head appeared.
  5. Whiskers looks like a cat again if Human Cat triggered.
  6. Street clear; TV set appropriately (on only as long as needed for Catzilla, then off for sleep).
  7. No HIDE warning active; you are not hiding mid-event when you try to sleep.
  8. Standard chores done: feed, litter, laser, mail, lock, dinner—see Getting Started.

Farming vs surviving

On a Cannon Good Ending attempt, every row above is mandatory. On a badge hunt, you intentionally leave one threat active and sleep—details live on All Endings. Never mix goals in the same night: decide “clear” or “farm” before the anomaly spawns.

Memorize signs first, fixes second, endings third. If you only remember one sentence: do not sleep while the house is still wrong.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about surviving Whiskers and every anomaly.

What do I do when the mailbox disappears and it is dark outside?

That is the Void anomaly. Close all blinds in the house before continuing or sleeping, or you risk the Voided ending.

How do I stop the Tall Man in the hallway?

Open your phone and take a photo of him so he disappears. Ignoring him can lead to the Peek a boo ending.

Should I open the door when Granny knocks?

No. Stay away from the hallways until knocking stops. Letting her in leads to Granny is Here.

How do I handle Catzilla or Godzilla on the street?

Turn the TV on to stop the creature. After it is handled, turn the TV off again before bed so you do not trigger Screen Time.

What does the HIDE warning mean?

Move to a back room and close the door until the event ends. Failing to hide can award the Found You ending.

What is the Misplaced anomaly?

Furniture or wall colors appear wrong compared to your mental map. Investigate and restore the layout before sleep, or you risk the Misplaced ending.

Can the phone replace this anomalies list?

Phone photos help, but tips can glitch. Use this guide’s hard solutions as the source of truth for each threat.
